2.  Characteristics: a white or almost white 
powder, odorless, or almost odorless, slight
bitter taste; hygroscopic; freely soluble in water, almost insoluble in
methanol.
 
3. Function and Use:
The product has strong activity against various Gram-negative and Gram-positive
bacteria.
The drug resistance of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella
pneumonia is practically identical with Kanamycin, but not with penicillin G,
Tetramycin, Ampicillin and Cloxacillin.
The product can be absorbed easily. Both blood concentration and urine
concentration are high. The drug is mainly excreted through urine. There is also
a certain concentration in eye tissue.
Its ototoxicity is lower than other aminoglycosides.
It is suitable for the infectious diseases caused by Staphylococcus sp.,
Streptococcus sp., Diplococcus pneumonia, Escherichia coli and Proteus sp., etc.
